The 10th annual Holiday Sale and Food Drive is slated for this Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Pleasanton School Annex building at 309 W.13th Street. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and features local vendors selling a variety of items, according to organizer Shannon Barbee.

Vendors include Blue Dog Wine Co., Castle Farms Fresh Meats and people selling candy and other sweets, custom tumblers, jewelry, antiques and assorted craft items for Christmas gifts. A manicurist will be doing nails for $5 donation that will go to the food drive, and another vendor will be selling essential oils and offering $5 massages.

The main event is the food drive. Last year the event fed Thanksgiving meals and provided additional food to more than 150 families, and Barbee said that is the goal for this year as well.

People should bring non-perishable food items to donate. For every can donated, participants will receive a raffle ticket. At the end of the day, tickets will be drawn and door prizes awarded. There will also be a silent auction as part of the event.

Vendors may still be accepted for the event. Contact Shannon Barbee at 913-352-6100 for more information.
