Ambulance, fire department make reports to commission

MOUND CITY – Ambulance and fire incident reports and other departmental

information was reported to Linn County Commission Chair Jim Johnson and

Commissioner Rick James on Monday, Nov. 14. Commissioner Danny McCullough

was absent.

American Medical Response (AMR) operations manager Galen Anderson reported

that transports were picking up again. In the last seven days, there were 19

transports, making the total for November 32.

Anderson said that AMR still had an opening for a paramedic in Linn County.

Linn County Fire Chief Randy Hegwald reported there were 11 incidents the past

week bringing the total for the year to 496. Hegwald did not report on the nature of

the incidents.

Hegwald said there would be a fire board meeting on Thursday night and the board

was still missing a non-firefighter member. The opening became vacant when long-

time fire board member Don Proffitt turned in his letter of resignation on Sept. 12.
