Ambulance monthly reports for June, July

MOUND CITY – On Monday, Aug. 29, American Medical Response (AMR) Operations Manager Galen Anderson gave ambulance reports to the Linn County commission. The calls so far in August were 71 transports – 21 of which were in the past week.


Anderson said it appeared that the calls for August were continuing with July’s busy trend.


Anderson thanked the commissioners for telling him about the STARS program at Pleasanton for Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT). He said that he had talked with Jay Allen, the director of the program and that AMR would begin a partnership with the program during the spring semester when EMT classes were offered there. Students will spend ride along time in the AMR ambulances.


After a background check on one of the new hires came back, Anderson said that AMR still had one opening.


Anderson reported the total calls for June were 83 and 53 transports with an overall response time of 10 minutes, 3 seconds. Four patients were transferred out by helicopter, two heart attacks, one post-cardiac arrest, and one poisoning/overdose.

• Centerville, 2 calls, 1 transport

• Greeley address, 1 call, 0 transport

• La Cygne, 23 calls, 14 transports

• Linn Valley, 11 calls, 8 transports

• Mound City, 11 calls, 7 transports

• Parker, 0 calls, 0 transports

• Pleasanton, 31 calls, 19 transports

• Prescott, 3 calls, 3 transports


The breakdown for commission districts are:

• District 1, 32 calls, 23 transports, average response time 10 minutes 2

seconds

• District 2, 34 calls, 22 transports, 7 minutes, 42 seconds

• District 3, 14 calls, 8 transports, 15 minutes, 36 seconds


In July, there were 130 calls and 88 transports with an overall response time of 12 minutes, 28 seconds. Eight patients were transferred out by helicopter, three motor vehicle collisions, two heart attacks, and three strokes.
