Ambulance service, fire departments report busy week

MOUND CITY – During the Monday, Oct. 3, Linn County Commission meeting, American Medical Response (AMR) Operations Manager Galen Anderson said that the ambulance service continues to have a busy trend in Linn County the past week with 14 ambulance transports in seven days.


Linn County Fire Chief Randy Hegwald reported that there had been 12 incidents the past week bringing the yearly number to 425 incidents.


Five calls were for brush and grass mixture fires, one call was a medical assist, one call was for a motor vehicle incident with injuries, one call was for a motor vehicle incident with no injuries, one was for a gas leak, one was a false alarm, one was an alarm system activation, and one was a fire in a mobile property used as a fixed structure.
