Blu-Jays travel to Northern Heights after 12-6 win

Updated: Oct 27

The Pleasanton Blu-Jays football team will be looking for their second district win on Friday, Oct. 21, when they travel to Northern Heights in Allen. The Blu-Jays tamed the Central Heights Vikings last Friday, winning the game 12-6.

It was a low-scoring, defensive battle that relied on Pleasanton head coach Caleb Hendrick’s focus on a strong defense for the win. Pleasanton, now 5-2, handed the Vikings (3-4) their second loss at the hands of a Three Rivers League school.

Earlier this month, Hendricks said that when the Blu-Jays’ starting defensive lineup is on the field, they have been very effective in shutting down their opponent’s offense.

Northern Heights is winless in seven games, losing last week to the Northeast Vikings of Arma, 30-28.

The Blu-Jays handed Northeast a lopsided 44-6 loss in a league match-up in early September.
