Bonnie Lou Tolly, age 94, La Cygne, Kansas, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022. She was born on October 19, 1927, in Spokane, Washington, the daughter of Charley and Myrtle Fransen Kirk.
She was united in marriage to Lester Tolly on April 5, 1944, in Jay, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Raymond Tolly; a brother, Stanley Kirk; a sister, Marie Grissom; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Bonnie worked as a seamstress and was a baby sitter. The two most important things in her life was her relation with Jesus and her family. She was a member of the New Life Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, playing Scrabble, painting and sewing. She made and donated lap throws, bibs, and baby clothes to any organization that was in need.
Bonnie is survived by three sons, Jimmy, Johnny and Lewis Tolly; two daughters, Glorianna Ford, and Margaret Melendy; seventeen grandchildren; forty-three great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at the New Life Baptist Church, La Cygne, Kansas. Burial will be in the Star Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to New Life Baptist Church.
