Commission approves hiring of IT support technician

MOUND CITY – Linn County Information Technology (IT) Director Chris Martin met with the Linn County Commissioners on Monday, Nov.15, to update the commission on jail equipment, a lightning strike to the county tower, and to request that the candidate for support technician position be hired for his department.

Martin told the commissioners that everything was ordered for the jail and that they were just waiting on delivery. He said that they had received part of the cameras and were just waiting on delivery of the other cameras and switches. He said they expected the rest of the cameras in December and not later than January.

Martin told commissioners that the county’s tower was struck by lightning but that they did not lose 911 or any of those functions.

The commissioners approved the hiring of Nick Graham as IT support technician at the pay of $21.34 per hour.
