Commission delays decision on Pleasanton meals site

MOUND CITY – On Tuesday, May 31, the Linn County Commissioners postponed their decision on whether to keep the current Pleasanton senior meal site where it is now or to move it to the Pleasanton Community Center.

Commissioner Danny McCullough, who represents the Pleasanton area and is in charge of gathering the information for the decision, was absent from the commission meeting but attended by phone.

County Counselor Gary Thompson pointed out to commissioners that they said that the decision would be made on Monday, so they formally needed to address it.

McCullough said he had been working with Public Works Director Shaun West on the matter and needed more time to get estimates on the work needed on the existing building, including electrical work.

Commissioners agreed to postpone their decision until their next regular meting on Monday, June 6.
