County burn ban issued for Tuesday; could be extended through Wednesday

Updated: Apr 1

PLEASANTON – Because of dry conditions and expected high winds, a burn ban has been issued for Tuesday, March 29.

Doug Barlet, Linn County fire chief and emergency management director, issued the ban on Monday. “The forecast for tomorrow (Tuesday) is 40 mph wind gusts, so we will be in a burn ban,” Barlet said in a statement.

“There will possibly be a ban on Wednesday as well,” he said. “We will keep an eye on the forecast for Wednesday as it currently shows 25 to 30 mph gusts.

“We are in an area for slight risk of severe weather on Tuesday evening into the overnight hours. We will be monitoring that situation as well.”
