MOUND CITY – On Monday, March 7, the Linn County commissioners hired Darin Wilson as a new administrator who will handle zoning, sanitation and codes enforcement. Wilson will replace Bobby Young, who is leaving in May.
Public Works Director Shaun West said that three people had applied and one had withdrawn their application.
For the next three weeks, Wilson, who is a general contractor, will work Monday through Wednesday with Young so that he can finish up his current contracting obligations. After that, he will begin work full-time working with Young until Young leaves late this spring.
West said Wilson does not have a Wastewater I certification. To get the certification, a person must have two year’s experience. Wilson will be hired in at $18.71 per hour.
In other business, the commissioners approved a burial permit for a bore under County Highway 1077 three-quarters of a mile north of Kansas Highway 152 for Linn County Rural Water District No. 3.
