MOUND CITY – The East Central Kansas Area Agency on Aging (ECKAAA) has funding available for elderly care in Linn County.
On Monday, April 25, Commissioner Rick James announced that the agency is looking for people who need services to help stay in their home in Linn County. A member of the ECKAAA board, James said that people had to meet the criteria of being 60 or older or disabled.
James said that currently nothing is off limits to ask for. If someone is looking for something and they cannot afford it, that is an opportunity for them to call the area agency on aging in Ottawa and find out if they can get qualified.
ECKAAA funding can help with housekeeping, one-time home repairs, and many other projects including personal care, caregiver programs, respite for caregivers, medical equipment, transportation coordination and much more. For more information call 1-800-633-5621.
James said that the biggest problem was finding people to do the work.
