Extension office to provide help during Medicare open enrollment

Updated: Nov 18, 2021

Medicare Open Enrollment takes place each year from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7. This is the time that individuals can review and make changes to their prescription drug plans and Medicare advantage plans. Your local K-State Research & Extension office provides free, unbiased education to assist members of the community in making their choices each year. Assistance will be provided in both La Cygne and Mound City this year. Dates and location include our Mound City office on Wednesday, Nov. 10, and the La Cygne public library on Thursday, Nov. 18. Individuals must complete an “intake form” prior to setting an appointment so that plan comparisons can be completed ahead of time. This form can be found on our Marais des Cygnes Extension District website at https://tinyurl.com/266y3yfp. Forms can also be picked up at the extension office or the library. Forms must be turned in to the extension office or library prior to receiving an appointment time. Appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The K-State Research & Extension Mound City office is located at 115 S. 6th Street. The La Cygne library is located at 209 N. Broadway. Please contact Kathy Goul, Family & Consumer Sciences Agent & Certified SHICK Counselor, at 913-294-4306 if you have any questions.
