Fire, ambulance reports for March 28

MOUND CITY – Weekly and month to date numbers for fire and ambulance calls were given to the Linn County Commissioners on Monday, March 28.

Linn County Fire Chief Doug Barlet told the commissioners that there were eight fire calls last week. Three were grass fires, one motor vehicle accident with injuries, one dispatched and canceled en route, one call where no incident was found on arrival at the dispatched address, one passenger vehicle fire and one off-road vehicle or heavy equipment fire. Barlet said that there had been 147 calls year-to-date.


Barlet informed the commissioners that severe weather was expected on Tuesday evening, and on Tuesday there would be a burn ban due to high winds.


American Medical Response (AMR) Supervisor Galen Anderson that the ambulance service had transported seven people in the last seven days. He said that so far in March there had been 47 transports.


Anderson also told the commissioners that AMR was still recruiting for the open paramedic position in the county.
