MOUND CITY – Linn County commissioners learned the number of ambulance and fire service calls for the week ending Sunday, March 20.
American Medical Response (AMR) Supervisor Galen Anderson reported to the Linn County Commission on Monday, March 21, that 15 people had been transported to hospitals in the past seven days. He said so far for the month of March there have been 37 transports.
Anderson said that AMR had one paramedic position open in Linn County but did not foresee that position being open long. AMR has been recruiting for it and has some prospective candidate, including a current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) who is obtaining her paramedic license soon.

There were 13 brush or brush and grass mixture fires, 10 grass fires, two building fires, one medical assist, one emergency medical service incident, one unauthorized burning, and one dispatched and canceled en route.
