Fire and ambulance updates

MOUND CITY – The Linn County Commissioners heard reports from the ambulance and fire department services for the county on Monday, March 25.

American Medical Response (AMR) operations manager Dawn Brooks reported that, so far for the month of March, there have been 79 calls and 47 transports with four of the transports by helicopter. The breakdown by cities is:

Blue Mound – 2 calls,  1 transport

Centerville -    7 calls,  3 transports

La Cygne -     23 calls, 14 transports

Linn Valley -   6 calls,   4 transports

Mound City - 13 calls,   7 transports

Parker - 5 calls,   3 transports

Pleasanton - 21 calls, 13 transports

Prescott - 2 call,      2 transport

Linn County Fire Chief Randy Hegwald reported that there had been 14 calls the past week for a year to date total of 146 calls.

Hegwald told the commissioners that he had run the numbers from last year up until this date and there were 92 calls, so the fire department has had considerably more calls at this point in the year than at the same time last year.
