Linn County residents will have three places to watch Fourth of July fireworks this Saturday, July 2.
After some initial concerns about finding licensed operators for the Pleasanton fireworks show, it is back on. The fireworks will start at dusk at Don Stegge Park west of Pleasanton.
Blue Mound will also celebrate the Fourth with its customary fireworks display. The fireworks show caps off a daylong event that starts with a 5K race at 7:30 a.m., a parade at 11 a.m. and other activities throughout the day.
The action winds back up that evening with inflatables for the kids, more games, a frozen T-shirt contest and the crowning of the 2022 Royal Court. The fireworks begin at dusk. See the story about the day's activities and a copy of the poster on Page 3.
Linn Valley residents and visitors will also be treated to a fireworks display that evening. And it follows a day of many events to celebrate the Fourth, including a fishing tournaments beginning at 9 a.m., a parade at 11 a.m., and activities at the club house.
The Linn Valley Fire Department is selling fireworks at the fire station as a fund-raiser leading up to the fireworks evening of June 2. The fireworks display begins at 9:30 p.m.

La Cygne will have its annual display the following Saturday, June 9, at the Swanfest and Blast in the Park celebration. The event will begin at 6 p.m. and run through the fireworks display at dusk.
