December 31, 1927 — October 22, 2023 Linn Valley, Kansas

James Roger Jagow, age 95, of Linn Valley, Kansas, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023. He was born on December 31, 1927 in Holly, Colorado, the son of John and Maude Knucky Jagow.

He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He worked as a meter reader for Kansas City Power and Light for over forty years and was also a member of the IBEW Union Local # 1464. Roger was united in marriage to Martha Hess on March 25, 1972. She preceded him in death on December 27, 2014.

Roger enjoyed the outdoors and this was evident in his love for camping. His children share great memories of the many family camping trips taken during their early years. Roger continued his love for travel throughout his life and especially after he retired from KCP&L. He and Martha sold their home and travelled for twenty-five years after his retirement before making their home in Linn Valley

His personal relationship with our Lord was number one in his life. His church family at Linn Valley Community Church was a big part of his life. He loved his church family and he loved being an active member, participating in whatever activities the Church was doing. He also attended Cowboy Church where he gained many friends as well. His family came second only to his faith.

Having everyone together telling stories, jokes and laughing was one of his biggest joys. Roger was a giving man who would help anyone that needed assistance and knew no strangers. He loved his Community, his Church, his family and his friends along with Louis L’Amour, Perry Mason and Marty Robbins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Reynolds Jagow; and a sister, Louise Crowden. Roger is survived by three sons, Jim Jagow and wife Pam, David Jagow and wife Terry, and John Jagow and wife Lorra; a daughter, Suzy Molt; a stepson, Randy Rowson; two stepdaughters, Cheryl Standiford, and Cindi Combs; a brother, Robert Bruce Jagow; ten grandchildren, and many wonderful great-grandchildren.

He will be forever remembered and greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023 at the Linn Valley Community Church. Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Linn Valley Community Church. Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
