John Marvin Arnold

Pleasanton, Kansas

John Marvin Arnold, age 93, of Sugar Valley Lakes near Mound City, Kansas, passed away, Friday, May 1, 2026.  He was born on May 13, 1932 in Worland, Missouri, the son of  John F. and Ruth Mullis Arnold.  


Marvin, the youngest of three children, and his family moved to a farm house east of Pleasanton at one-and-one-half years old.  In 1952 he was united in marriage to Donna Grimsley.  To this union, four children were born.


Marvin worked as a farmer until 1957. The family moved to Kansas City, Kansas, and he worked at the University of Kansas Medical Center for thirty-seven years.  He was a member of the Grace Fellowship Church.


He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jeff Arnold; a brother, Maurice Arnold; and a sister, Marjorie Masters.  Marvin is survived by his wife, Donna; three daughters, Vicki Chowning(Jim), Debra Bunker, and Janet Arnold; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  


Graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Pleasanton Cemetery.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Prairie Wind Hospice.  Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
