La Cygne Thanksgiving meal to be a drive-through affair

LA CYGNE – The La Cygne annual community Thanksgiving dinner is back this year. But it will be served as a drive-through, take-out meal at the La Cygne Library from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday, Nov. 13.


To reserve your meal, you must call 913-757-2151 by this Thursday, Nov. 11, and tell them your name, phone number and the number of meals needed for your family.


This meal is open, without charge, to anyone who would like to enjoy a holiday meal.


The Friends of the Library Lunch Program will be serving the meal, which is made possible by donations from local organizations, churches and individuals.

To pick up the meal, drive south from Chestnut Street into the alley on the east side of the library, pull up to the building and wait for someone to bring your meal. After receiving the meal, keeping driving south on the alley and exit onto Walnut Street. Do not park in the parking lot to wait for the meal.


The menu includes the traditional Thanksgiving fare: turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, dressing, green bean casserole, rolls and cookies or brownies for dessert.
