Linn County jail bookings, May 10 through May 24

Below is a summary of persons recently taken into custody by Linn County law enforcement officers and booked into the Linn County jail. All of the persons listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty.


May 24

• Billy Shipps, Mound City, was taken into custody by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for alleged failure to wear a seatbelt; Vehicles, operate vehicles without registration or with an expired tag; driving while suspended, second or subsequent conviction.


May 23

• Thomas Gatlin, Mound City, was taken into custody by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for alleged domestic battery; knowing rude physical contact with family member.

• Misty Varnell-Cannon, Osawatomie, was taken into custody by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for alleged improper driving on laned roadway; Possession of opium, opiate, narcotic or certain stimulant; use/possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia.

• Chester Casida, Olathe, was taken into custody by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for alleged theft of property or services, valued at $1,500 or less; burglary; non-dwelling to commit felony to commit felony, theft, or sexually motivated crime; failure to appear in court.

• Laura Myers, La Cygne, was taken into custody by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for alleged criminal damage to property; without consent value $1,000 to $25,000.

May 22

• Eva Riojas, La Cygne, was taken into custody by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for alleged attempted aggravated battery; reckless great bodily harm; criminal threat, cause terror, evacuation or disruption; criminal damage to property; without consent value.

• Andrea Caruso, Adriana, Mo., was taken into custody by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for alleged detainment by judge’s order waiting for pending warrant.

• Christopher Edwards, Kansas City, Mo., was taken into custody by the Pleasanton Police Department for alleged for possession of opiate, opium, narcotic or certain stimulant; Use/possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia into human body.


May 21

• James Higgins, Pleasanton, was taken into custody by the Pleasanton Police Department for alleged aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer; great body harm to state/county/city officer on duty; battery on law enforcement officer; physical contact with county or city officer on duty.


May 20

• Sandra Atkisson, Pleasanton, was taken into custody by the Pleasanton Police Department for alleged domestic battery; Knowing or reckless bodily harm to family member.

• Dakota Ryles, Butler, Mo., was taken into custody by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for alleged domestic battery; knowing or reckless bodily harm to family member.

• Maci Roy, Butler, Mo., was taken into custody by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for alleged driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol; domestic battery; knowing or reckless bodily harm to family member.

• Dale Samyn, Mound City, was taken into custody by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for alleged domestic battery; knowing rude physical contact with a family member.


May 16

• Maci Roy-Boone, La Cygne, was taken into custody by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for alleged failure to appear in court.

• Loretta Barbee, Mound City, was taken into custody by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for alleged failure to appear in court; theft of property or services, value $1,500 to $25,000.

• Stephen Sundby, Kansas City, Kan., was taken into custody by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for alleged probation violation.

• Leonard Starcher, Fort Scott, was taken into custody by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for alleged probation violation.

• Benjamin Rowden, Olathe, was taken into custody by the Linn Valley Police Department for alleged domestic battery; knowing or reckless bodily harm to family member.


May 15

• Heather Barracchini, Kansas City, Mo., was taken into custody by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for alleged theft of property or services, value less than $1,500; burglary; non-dwelling to commit felony, theft or sexually motivated crime.


May 13

• Ethan Clay, Mound City, was taken into custody by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for alleged aggravated assault; use of a deadly weapon; physical contact in rude, insulting, angry manner; disorderly conduct.


May 11

• Amanda Wilson, Osawatomie, was taken into custody by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for alleged failure to appear in court.

• Jacob Bogard, Blue Mound, was taken into custody by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for alleged traffic contraband in correctional/care facility; introducing item on grounds; criminal threat; unknown circumstance.

May 10

• Trever Stroud, Pleasanton, was taken into custody by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office for alleged failure to appear in court.
