Linn County Sheriff's report for Jan. 30
MOUND CITY – Linn County Sheriff Kevin Friend met with the commissioners on Monday, Jan. 30, to check on the maintenance project with the generators. Two weeks ago, Friend had asked the commissioners if they wanted other county generators to be included with the Justice Center’s maintenance contract.
Public Works Director Shaun West said that he was waiting for a bid from another company.
Friend went over the following report, pointing out that the 911 calls were really low this past week. He said that the total civil service papers were up with 35 being a considerable increase for a one-week period. That shows that our courts are really up and running getting a lot of civil service papers out, he added.
• Total prisoners at the Justice Center the past week were 51. Fourteen prisoners were released the past week.
• No prisoners were sent to other facilities.
• Thirty-one prisoners were from other facilities.
• Total 911 calls were 43.
• There were 4,468 jail contacts.
• Total calls for service were 470.
• Total civil service papers served were 35.
• There were four vehicle identification number (VIN) inspections.
• Eleven new cases (criminal, child in need of care, etc.) were opened.
• Ten cases were closed.
• There were three vehicle crashes.
• There were 148 school resource officer (SRO) activities.
• Bailiff contacts were 92. From this 92, 26 calls for service were developed.
• Deputies responded to three reports of livestock being out.
