Linn County Sheriff's report for week ending Sept. 23

MOUND CITY – On Monday, Sept. 25, Sheriff Kevin Friend gave his weekly report to the commissioners.


The sheriff’s department numbers for the past week are:


• Total prisoners at the Justice Center the past week were 59. Ten prisoners were released the past week.

• No prisoners were sent to other facilities.

• Thirty-eight prisoners were from other facilities.

• Total 911 calls were 74.

• There were 1,727 jail contacts.

• Total calls for service were 521.

• Total civil service papers served 29.

• There were seven vehicle identification number (VIN) inspection.

• Ten new cases (criminal, child in need of care, etc.) were opened.

• Twelve cases were closed.

• There were four vehicle crashes worked by the sheriff’s office.

• There were 76 school resource officer (SRO) activities.

• Bailiff contacts were 159, resulting in 51 calls for service.

• Deputies responded to 10 reports of livestock that were out.


Friend reported that the current daily income from jail housing is $2,934.
