Vehicle accidents
  • Cynthia Lalemand of Walnut, Kan., was driving a 2014 GMC van southbound on U.S. Highway 69 on May 31 when the vehicle struck a deer. Neither Lalemand or her passenger were injured.

  • Nicholas Hanks of Raymore, Mo., was driving a 2006 Toyota Prius northbound on Kansas Highway 7 near the 2400 Road intersection on June 1 when the vehicle struck a deer. Hanks was not injured, however, the vehicle was towed because of damage.

  • Jolcelyn Lazarus of Wichita, Kan., was driving a 2016 Ford Taurus eastbound on Kansas Highway 31 near the Harkness Road intersection at 9:30 P.M.on June 1 when the vehicle struck a deer crossing the road. Lazarus was not injured but the vehicle suffered disabling damage.

  • Vincent Gann of Kansas City, Mo., was drviing a 2001 Honda Civic north on U.S. 69 at about 9 p.m. on June 5 when the vehicle struck a deer. Gann was not injured.

  • Kayla Hubbard of Rantoul, Kan., was driving a 2007 Chevrolet HHR north on K-7 near the 2200 Road intersection at about 6 a.m. on June 6 when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a culvert, went nose down into a ditch and rolled end-over-end several times before coming to rest on its wheels. Hubbard was transported to Overland Park Regional medical center.

  • Jason Hightower of La Cygne, was driving a 2020 Ford Explorer westbound on K-152 at the Maddox Road intersection at 9:15 p.m. on June 9 when a deer entered the roadway and struck the vehicle. HIghtower was not injured.

  • Betsy Stokes of Blue Mound was driving a 2018 Dodge Charger westbound on 400 Road near the Harkness Road intersection at about 10 p.m. on June 9 when a deer entered the roadway and struck her vehicle. Stokes was not injured.

  • Isabelle Hutson of Paola was driving a 2012 Ford Fusion northbound on U.S. 69 near the K-239 intersection at 9:42 p.m. on June 10 when the vehicle struck a deer, which deployed both front airbags. Neither Hutson or her passenger were injured.

  • Ashley Stainbrook of Parker was driving a 2013 GMC Acadia southbound on K-7 near the 2300 Road intersection at about 10 p.m. on June 11 when the vehicle struck a deer in the roadway. Neither Stainbrook or her two passengers were injured.
