Linn County under burn ban until Sunday morning

PLEASANTON – The Linn County Emergency Management Department on Friday, July 22, has issued an immediate burning ban until 8 a.m. Sunday, July 24.

The ban dry conditions and increasing winds as the reason to implement the ban.

Linn County is under a heat advisory from the National Weather Service through the weekend. High temperatures are expected to reach 101 degrees on Saturday and 102 degrees on Sunday. Winds during that period are expected to be up to 16 mph with gusts as high as 29 mph.

The notice said that the burning ban could be extended on Sunday if hot, dry conditions continue to prevail.
