MOUND CITY – In a special meeting at noon on Thursday, July 20, the Mound City Council approved the hiring of a new full-time police officer. City Clerk Shelby Murray confirmed that Tommy "Chip" More had been hired to assist Police Chief Paul McKee.
McKee has been working to hire a full time officer, but was reportedly having difficulty in getting the council to agree on previous applicants.
More is leaving the Linn County Sheriff's Department to take the position. He previously worked for the Mound City Department. His starting pay is $17 per hour.
