Parker man airlifted to hospital following accident on K-7

MOUND CITY – A 42-year-old Parker man was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Kansas Highway 7 at the 1375 Road intersection on Thursday, May 11. Eric L. Browning was removed on a spine board from the pickup he was driving and was taken to Mound City, where he was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center by air ambulance.
According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office report, Browning was driving a 2001 GMC Sonoma pickup south on K-7 and slowed to turn east on 1375 Road a little after 5 p.m.
A 2015 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Brady L. Ball, 41, of Blue Mound was also southbound following Browning’s vehicle. When Sonoma slowed to turn, the Silverado steered into the northbound lane and struck the Sonoma in the driver’s side door.
Both vehicles went off the roadway into a ditch on the southeast corner of the intersection. The report indicated that Ball, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured in the accident. Browning was not wearing a seatbelt.
According to the report, Ball said he did not see the driver of the Sonoma use a turn signal.
