Updated: Feb 23

PLEASANTON – Pleasanton school district math teacher Sara Conley has been hired to be the principal for the Pleasanton junior and senior high school for the 2022-23 school year. The Pleasanton USD 362 Board of Education approved hiring Conley at their monthly meeting on Monday, Feb. 14.

She will replace Mitch Shaw, who resigned earlier this month to take the superintendent’s post for Oswego USD 504 in Oswego, Kan. Shaw, who has served as PHS principal for the past eight years, will assume his new post on July 1.

In his announcement of Conley’s hiring, Superintendent Travis Laver said Conley had been teaching in the district the last couple of years. He also said that before coming to Pleasanton, she was a middle school assistant principal in Arkansas.

He added that, during her tenure in Arkansas, she was named the middle school assistant principal of the year.
