Power out in Pleasanton area as a result of damaging winds

PLEASANTON – Hurricane-like winds are likely the cause of a power outage last night in Pleasanton. Crews from Evergy arrived this morning to repair the damage.

Evergy reports that more than 700 customers were without power in an area that extends from Pleasanton into Missouri. More than 120 additional customers were affected south of Prescott.

An Evergy spokesman said yesterday that yesterday's winds caused the largest power outage in company history. High wind gusts took many power lines down, causing widespread outages that affected over 200,000 people in Kansas and Missouri.
