Sheriff's report for the week ending March 23

MOUND CITY – The Linn County’s Sheriff’s report for Monday, March 25, showed that the current daily income from jail housing is $3,421.


The sheriff’s department numbers for the week ending March 23 were:


• Total prisoners at the Justice Center the past week were 67. Fourteen prisoners were released the past week.

• Total prisoners in were 67.

• No prisoners were sent to other facilities. 

• Forty-eight prisoners were from other facilities.

• Total 911 calls were 83. 

• There were 4,798 jail contacts.

• Total calls for service were 664.                                                                                                      • Total civil service papers served: 8.

• There were nine vehicle identification number (VIN) inspections.

• Seven new cases (criminal, child in need of care, etc.) were opened.

• Thirteen cases were closed.

• There were three vehicle crashes worked by the sheriff’s office.

• There were 139 school resource officer (SRO) activities. 

• Bailiff contacts were 223 resulting in 67 calls for service.

• Eight reports were received about livestock being out.
