Open Act I, Scene I. A Mr. Boddy comes onto the stage and invites the audience to play “The Game.” He then introduces a cast of characters everyone will come to know over the course of the next hour or so, and he then invites several members of the audience onstage to draw cards.

Thus begins Clue the Musical, an interactive adaptation of the murder mystery board game Clue that was developed nearly eight decades ago, except this time it’s with a twist: There are songs to be sung and plot twist to be made.

The Prairie View theater department will present the production this Friday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center. Students are free and there is a $5 charge for adults.

The musical based on the board game and the book by Peter DePietro, music by Galen Blum, Wayne Barker and Vinnie Martucci, and lyrics by Tom Chiodo.

Stage crew for the production includes, front row from left, Paige Utech, Dalley Hughes, Danica Brake, Chris Raphael-Martin; back row, Isabella Nodwell, Mary Ryan, Madelyn Weir, Rylan McCrea and Lance Manker.

The plot involves a murder at a mansion and several suspects are on hand to be questioned by a detective.Throughout the course of the musical, however, the audience decides which suspect commits the crime, the weapon used, and which room the murder takes place.

Based on the cards drawn by the audience, there are 216 possible endings to the mystery.

The production will feature vocal music teacher James Beltz on the keyboard. The musical is directed by drama teacher Austin Pixton.

The cast includes:

Colten McCrea as Mr. Boddy,

Cecelia Brockway as The Detective,

William Swisher as Col. Mustard,

Aurora Burton as Mrs. White,

Cash Lintner as Mr. Green,

Cheyanne Moss as Mrs. Peacock, and
