State office of veterans affairs to hold claims, benefits event

Veterans and their families are invited to the Veterans Claims and Benefits event in Pittsburg, Kansas on October 24 and 25, 2025, at the Pittsburg State University, Student Recreation Center, 2001 S. Rouse St., Pittsburg, Kan.

Pittsburg State University and the Kansas Office of Veterans Services are hosting the event.

On Friday, Oct. 24. the event runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday, Oct. 25, it runs from 8 a.m. to noon, according to Michelle Sweeney, VA public affairs director.


 No appointment is needed and free services are being offered, including:

• VA Healthcare Enrollment

• VA Disability Claims Filed/Updated

• Women Veterans Health Care

• Obtaining Military Records/DD214

• Surviving Spouse Benefit Information

• Veterans' Organizations and other resources


Items for veterans and family members to bring include discharge papers and marriage certificate. Please Share this invitation with other Veterans and families.
