William Ralph "Bill" Ross, age 85, La Cygne, Kansas, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024.  He was born on October 9, 1938, in Linn County, Kansas, the son of William H. and Mildred L. Croghan Ross.  He graduated from La Cygne Rural High School in the Class of 1956.  He proudly served his Country in the United States Army.  He was united in marriage to Linda Filtingberger on October 17, 1959.  She preceded him in death on May 28, 2020.  He was also preceded in death by his parents.


He was a member of the Parker Masonic Lodge and the Christian Church.  He had passion for photography, especially black and white.  He enjoyed gardening and even had his own greenhouse.  He was a talented wood craftsman as well.  


Bill is survived by a son, William Kent Ross; a daughter, Rhonda Lee Ross; a brother, Charles Ross; and a sister Cindy McIntosh; and four grandchildren, William Ross, Heather Sides, Greg Campbell, and LeAnna Campbell.  


Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2024, at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel.  Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the La Cygne Chapel.  Memorial contributions can be made to La Cygne Library.  Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
