PAOLA – An 18-year-old Pleasanton woman died as a result of her injuries in a one-vehicle accident early Sunday morning, Sept. 10, in the vicinity of West 311th Street and Spring Valley Road in Miami County.
According to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, a 911 call was received just after 2:30 a.m. that a vehicle was in the ditch after rolling over. Deputies dispatched to the scene provided CPR to the driver, Breann Nichole Bowley of Pleasanton, until emergency medical personnel arrived. Bowley was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the deputies’ investigation, the 2004 Ford Explorer that Bowley was driving was traveling east on 311th Street west of Spring Valley Road when the vehicle left the roadway on the right side before coming back onto the road way causing the vehicle to roll multiple times before coming to rest in the north ditch.
Bowley was the only occupant of the vehicle and was ejected.
Bowley graduated from Pleasanton High School in May, and family members indicated on Facebook posts that she was returning home from work and may have swerved the vehicle to avoid striking an animal.
There will be a “biscuits and gravy" benefit on Sept. 23 at the Ernie Price Annex, 309 W. 13th St. from 7 to 10 a.m. with a bake sale and raffle. All proceeds go directly to the family to help with expenses.
A gofundme.com webpage has also been set up to take donations for the family.
