Adam Leland Swarens

Adam Leland Swarens, age 44, Hume, Missouri ,passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 28, 2026. He was a devout man of God & a very civic minded person. He served on the Hume Volunteer Fire Department, Hume City Council, Hume Lions Club and Hume Booster Club.


Adam was born on March 16, 1982 in Nevada, Missouri, the biological son of Chad Rees and Pam Swarens. He was raised by his maternal grandparents, Wilma and Donald Swarens and graduated from Hume High School in the Class of 2000. On August 22, 2020, he was united in marriage to his soul mate, Amber (Sneed) Patrick, and to this union gained 2 beautiful daughters.


Adam was preceded in death by his grandfather Donald Swarens and infant nephew Trenton Weeter. Adam is survived by his wife Amber; son Wyatt Swarens and his fiancé Makayla Hearting-Dines and expected grandson Kaden Leland Swarens; two daughters Annabelle and Emmalee Patrick, grandmother Wilma Swarens; brother Tyler (Savannah) Swarens; four sisters Amanda (Scott) Litzman, Alex Rees, Samantha Rees, and Ruby Brungardt; mother Pam Swarens, father Chad Rees; sisters-in-law Katie (Buck) Morrison and Andrea (Danny) Bohlken; father- & mother-in-law Ed & Diane Sneed; as well as multiple nieces and nephews. He was well loved and his loss will be felt by so many. 


Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2026, at the Hume High School, Hume Missouri School. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the Schneider Funeral Home, Pleasanton, Kansas Chapel. Memorial contributions are to the Adam Swarens Childrens Memorial.
