Alice Illeene Rose, age 96, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Friday, June 14, 2024. She was born in La Cygne, Kansas on August 2,1927, the daughter of Frank and Nannie Driskill Rhynerson and raised on the family farm in rural La Cygne.


After graduating from high school, she briefly taught school in a one room schoolhouse. Alice was united in marriage to Harold Rose in 1946. He preceded her in death on August 2, 2010. She loved her family, especially her thirteen great grandchildren.


She enjoyed gardening, coloring and crafting. She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Lawrence, Ralph, Jim, Frank and Charles Rhynerson; two sisters, Martha Rhynerson, and Ruth Bullock; and a great granddaughter, Alice Mae”Ali”.


Alice is survived by a son, Gary Rose and wife, Diana; two daughters, Brenda Rose and husband Pat Smith, and Vicki Welsch and husband Bill; a brother, Kenny Rhynerson; two sisters, Wilma Stainbrook and Pearl Scott; six grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. 

 

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2024, at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel.  Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to service time at the La Cygne Chapel.
