CENTERVILLE – The Centerville Community Dinner on Friday, March 29, was the perfect time to honor three long-time members of the American Legion Arthur Jeffries Post No. 294 in Centerville. Glenn Connor, Clyde Bowman, and David Ungeheuer were each honored for 50 years of service to the post and to the American Legion.

About 50 residents of the community were on hand for the ceremony before the dinner. Marri Krupco, a Blue Mound resident who is the 2nd District Adjutant for the American Legion in Kansas was on hand to present the awards to the men.

Krupco presents Conner with an citation for his service to the Legion.

Conner also received a citation for meritorious service for the time he puts in volunteering for the local post. Krupco said Conner was the obvious choice for the award because of countless hours of volunteer work.
