KANSAS CITY, Kan.  — American Medical Response (AMR) Kansas, a Global Medical Response (GMR) solution, has once again earned reaccreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS), a nationally recognized benchmark for excellence in emergency medical services.

This marks nine consecutive years of accreditation for AMR Kansas, reaffirming its continued commitment to safety, quality and patient-centered care.

First accredited in 2016, AMR Kansas maintains a single CAAS accreditation that encompasses the operations of Topeka, KC Metro, Wabaunsee County, and Linn County. Fewer than 200 emergency medical services (EMS) agencies nationwide hold this distinction, and in Kansas, AMR remains one of only two providers to meet these rigorous national standards.

“This reaccreditation demonstrates our ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest standards in EMS,” said Mary Glover, CAAS coordinator for AMR Kansas. “It ensures we have the right processes, procedures and safeguards in place to provide the best possible care for our patients. Achieving reaccreditation across four operations reflects the hard work and teamwork of every member of our organization.”

During the comprehensive review, AMR Kansas met all operational benchmarks. The CAAS review process examines every aspect of service, from medical protocols and vehicle maintenance to employee engagement and patient documentation.

“Our teams spent nearly a year preparing for the review, ensuring that every policy, protocol and process aligned with CAAS standards,” Glover said. “The result reflects the pride our employees take in their work and their shared commitment to excellence.”

AMR Kansas attributes its success to a team-centered culture and a proactive approach to quality improvement.

“We engage our crews daily and foster a sense of ownership in maintaining these standards,” Glover said. “It’s not about compliance—it’s about pride in providing exceptional care. That approach has strengthened morale and performance across all our operations.”

As CAAS introduces new standards emphasizing continuous system improvement, AMR Kansas is preparing to remain at the forefront of EMS quality.

“We want to be on the leading edge of progress, not just reacting to change,” Glover said. “This reaccreditation reaffirms that our operations, protocols and people are among the best in the nation.”

With this reaccreditation, AMR Kansas continues to set the standard for high-quality emergency medical care, ensuring that when seconds matter, communities across Kansas can count on trusted, expert responders.
