The week of Feb. 2–6 was Courtwarming week for Pleasanton High School. During the week, the kids dressed up to win points for their grade level.
Monday was Celebrity Look-a-like Day. Tuesday was Animal Day with students dressed as everything from cows to jellyfish. Wednesday was Wacky Wednesday where kids dressed as teachers and teachers dressed as students. Thursday was Decades Day, kids dressed from the ‘50s through the 2000s.
Students and staff got into the Courtwarming throughout the week. Clockwise from top left, Morgan Croan dresses like SRO Juliet Grey, Jurnee Looney with her jellyfish costume, Cooper Milburn as Elphaba from "Wicked," Ashlan George is in the house as Elvis, Cristy Cutshaw and Melinda Dent on Decades Day, and Milburn and teacher Destiney Fletcher trade places on Wacky Wednesday,
Finally, Friday was Team Spirit day. Seniors wore blue and white for the Dallas Mavericks. Juniors wore green and white for the Boston Celtics. Sophomores wore purple and yellow for the LA Lakers. Freshmen wore red and black for the Chicago Bulls.

Dressing up was fun with even some of the staff getting into dressing up. But on Friday, the real class competitions were played. Classes earned points first by answering correct questions in Family Feud.
The candidates for queen and king are Ashlan George and Kei-Mahne Davis, Abbigail Johnson and Mario Davis, and MaKya Neal-Cox and Kamden Staton.
Then there was a huge game of four corners, kids tried to not be in the corner that was eliminated. Next came Jeopardy, which included staff baby and senior pictures. It kept going with a friendly round of musical chairs with basketballs. Finally, a huge round of dodgeball. It proved a very exciting afternoon for the kids.
Game time, Yates Center came into Pleasanton with hopes of ruining the Blu-Jays’ Courtwarming. As hard as the Yates Center girls tried, Pleasanton kept taking the lead. The game was going back and forth, both sides fighting hard. Finally, in the fourth quarter with only a 2-point lead, Pleasanton’s Maria Neal-Cox made two free throws that extend the lead. Each team fought but another free throw by Neal-Cox sealed the deal for Pleasanton’s 23-18 win.
Both the girls and boys teams notched victories on Courtwarming night. Clockwise from upper left, Mario Davis flies high as he sinks another layup, Marie Neal-Cox sealed the win with her last minute free throws, Charlie Brown was a force in the game, and Garrett Conley working hard on the boards.
Next came the boys. For the Pleasanton boys, it seemed easy, even though Yates Center gave a huge effort to slow Pleasanton down. Pleasanton ran up and down the court. Even when Pleasanton went to its bench, the pace never slowed down.
Pleasanton kept pressure up during defense and well-planned moves to score on offense. The Pleasanton boys kept hitting the boards and found they had made opportunities to make more baskets.
Mario Davis was the leader of this onslaught; Garrett Conley was the force inside that kept hitting the boards and would help Pleasanton keep the ball. The Pleasanton boys ended up
winning 55-36.

Halftime of the boys game, the moment came to find out who the 2026 Courtwarming queen and king would be.
The first candidates to be introduced were Ashlan George and her escort Kei-Mahne Davis. The second pair of candidates was Abbigail Johnson with her escort Mario Davis. The third and final couple was MaKya Neal-Cox with escort Kamden Staton.
After the candidates were introduced, the moment had arrived. The Pleasanton Courtwarming king and queen were Kei-Mahne Davis and MaKya Neal-Cox.
Crown bearers Ker and Irwin brought out the crowns and the king and queen were crowned. With one last picture of the royal court, the ceremony ended and the game went on. Congratulations to Kei-Mahne and MaKya.

Hejsa forum.
