Update: Pleasanton officials have posted that the girls 4x400 team set a new school record with a time of 52.13 seconds. We will post official results when they are available.
Seven Pleasanton High School athletes will be headed to the Class 1A state championship track and field meet on Friday and Saturday, May 29-30, at Wichita State University.
Junior Aiden Patrick will be competing in both the 100-meter dash and the high jump. Patrick tied for first place in the high jump at the regional meet on May 22 at Waverly. His leap of 6’-2” tied with a jumper from Axtell.
Patrick placed third in the high jump a week earlier at the Three Rivers League meet with a 6-2 jump.
Patrick was regional runner-up in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.50 seconds. That was more than half a second faster than his time at league, where he was league champion with a time of 12.11.
Senior Mario Davis will also compete in the high jump at state. His 5-10 jump at regionals earned him a tie for fourth place and a ticket to state. Davis placed second at the league meet with a jump of 6-2.
Senior Ashlan George placed third in the pole vault at the regional meet with a vault of 8-6 and will compete at state in that event. At the league meet, her vault at that same height gave her a second place finish.

At regional, the team placed third in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 52.73. That qualified them for state. The team was league champion at event with a time of 53.22.
