Butcher shop, rezoning issues slated for county planners meeting on Tuesday, March 31

Journal staff report

MOUND CITY – Instead of meeting on the second Tuesday of the month, the Linn County Planning and Zoning Commission used that day, March 10, as a workshop meeting where no official votes were taken. Cases scheduled for the March meeting will meet on Tuesday, March 31, 7 p.m., at the Courthouse Annex instead.

The workshop on March 10 was not available on YouTube live stream. A state attorney general’s decision on meetings advertised as being on livestream must be consistently broadcast unless there is a technical error.

Applications due to be reviewed on Tuesday, March 31 are:

  • Conditional Use Permit by Thomas Yoder Custom Butcher Shop at 12891 W. 2200 Road, La Cygne.

  • Rezoning of 7.21 acres by C & C Properties and Land Management from Agricultural to Countryside for land at 18155 KS Highway 52, Mound City.

  • Rehearing of the the Rezoning Hearing for Youthfront for 257.91 acres to be rezoned from    Agricultural to Industrial. The address of the application is 22724 East 2400 Road, La Cygne.

No further information about the applications was available from the county’s zoning department on the agenda until Monday, March 30.
