Commission reschedules, cancels meetings in October

Updated: Oct 19, 2022

MOUND CITY – Scheduling changes and plans for upcoming events were discussed at the Linn County Commission meeting on Monday, Oct. 3.

Because of the Columbus Day Holiday, the commissioners rescheduled the meeting set for next Monday to the following day, Tuesday, Oct. 11.

The commission meeting normally scheduled for Oct. 17 will not be held as the commissioners and some county staff will be attending the Kansas Association of Counties (KAC) conference Monday through Wednesday of that week. The commissioners will officially finalize this change on Tuesday, Oct. 11.

In another matter, Deputy County Clerk Morgan Northcutt presented options for the Linn County employees Christmas Dinner. It will be held on Dec. 9 at the Christian Church in Mound City.

Northcutt presented different cost options for the meal and said that the only person who had gotten back with her about catering was Jordan Ungeheuer of Sweet Harvest Baking Company, LLC from Blue Mound.

The commissioners decided to go with the $10 per person price for a non-traditional meal of chili and cinnamon rolls and chicken noodle soup and garlic toast with vegetable trays, drinks, and place settings included. The commissioners each offered to pay $200 to help with the meal costs.
