Press release

MOUND CITY – The staff of the Linn County Appraisers Office are already fanning out across the southeastern portion of the Linn County to updated appraisals on property.

"The Linn County Appraiser’s Office is in full swing of our RELIST Cycle," said County Appraiser Lisa Kellstadt in a release on Monday. "We are required by the State of Kansas to do an on-site physical inspection of all 19,175 parcels in our county within a six-year cycle.

"In 2025, we visited 4,221 Parcels which were reviewed for the 2026 tax year.

"This involves remeasuring structures and taking new photos of each of the buildings on the property.  For the 2027 Tax Year, we will be looking at approximately 3,300 parcels – mostly concentrated around Pleasanton and Prescott."

"We will also at the same time be reviewing properties that have recently sold and will be also taking new photos and checking measurements," Kellstadt said. "Sales, building permits and yearly RESLIST are part of our statutory compliance with the State of Kansas.

"We have two teams that are in white vehicles that are marked with Linn County logos, and the employees will have identifying badges and or clothing marked 'Linn County.'"

If residents have questions or concerns, she urges them to contact the office at 913-795-2523.
