MOUND CITY – Surveys are on the Linn County website for residents, builders and developers, and real estate professionals to offer their perspectives on what is needed for housing in Linn County.

At the April 3 commission meeting, Economic Development Director Jessica Hightower explained to the commissioners that these surveys were needed for the housing tool assessment that the county is required to complete for the Rural Champion housing program.

The surveys will help determine what kind of housing is needed in the county.

Each section looks at what kind of housing might be needed in the future in Linn County as well as other questions.

In the builder and developer’s section, there are questions about building regulations in the county and the average cost per square foot.

The real estate professional section asks about the quality of owned homes in Linn County.

Some of the questions in the resident section ask if there is any reason that current residents would be looking for a new place to live in five years and what type of homes elderly people are looking for.
