Kansas Department of Transportation press release

A contractor will replace a box culvert under K-52 in Linn County starting the week of Feb. 16, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.

The box culvert for Little Sugar Creek drainage is about a mile west of the K-7/K-52 south junction. Work will begin on or after Feb. 16. The project is expected to be completed by the summer, conditions permitting.

This stretch of highway will remain closed for the duration of the project. A 20-mile signed detour on K-7 and K-31 will guide travelers around the work zone. KDOT uses state highways for official detour routes for safety, weight and maintenance concerns.

Reece Construction Company, Inc., of Salina, received the $660,215.46 contract for the work.

KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones.
