Darren Wayne Bland, age 18, La Cygne, Kansas, passed away as the result of a motor vehicle accident Tuesday, August 12, 2025. He was born on December 28, 2006, in Fort Scott, Kansas, the son of Darron Bland and Teri Hartford Bland.

He was currently working in the construction industry. Darren enjoyed working on cars, video games, fishing, camping, shooting and just being outdoors.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Nathan Bland. Darren is survived by his mother, Teri Bland and Jerry Bearce; his father, Darron Bland; and three brothers, Austin Bland, Daniel Bland, and Jaden Gibson.

Funeral service will be 2 pm Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Schneider Funeral Home, La Cygne Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to service time at the La Cygne Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to help defray expenses and may be made to Schneider Funeral Home.
