David Wayne Parker, age 62, Mound City, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024, at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He was born on January 27, 1962, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Donnie and Wanda Sharp Parker.


He spent most of his working days in the food industry, including The Rainbow in Las Vegas, The Wagon Wheel in Warsaw, Garrett’s BBQ in Mound City, and Food Fair. He also worked Security at Kansas City Power and Light.


David was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He loved to spend time with his son Raymond and watch him grow up into a beautiful young man. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing music, cracking jokes, eating home cooking and BBQ. He was a talented musician and liked to fish.


He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Miller; father, Donnie Parker; and a brother, Todd Parker. David is survived by is son, Raymond, and Raymond’s mother, Carrie Swain; three brothers, Marty Garret and wife Melissa, Jeremy Parker, and Donnie Parker; nieces, nephews; extended family; and friends.  


Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mound City, Kansas.  Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.  Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
