David Wayne Henderson


January 19, 1968 — May 28, 2026
Osawatomie, Kansas

David Wayne Henderson, affectionately known as “Bubba,” was born on January 19, 1968, in Lawrence, Kansas, to Thomas and Romona (Krische) Henderson. He attended Warsaw High School and graduated with the Class of 1986.


Following high school, David worked for Forbes Land Development before joining Operators Local Union 101. He also worked the pipeline for Michaels and spent time working at Lucas Oil Speedway. David had many close friends and enjoyed spending time with them listening to music. He enjoyed watching the Chiefs (when they won) and making memories with family and friends.


David married Lisa Taylor Henderson of Osawatomie on June 16, 2017. Lisa brought three daughters into the marriage — Lindsey, Rachel, and Hailey — whom David loved and treated as his own. Together, David and Lisa shared many hobbies, adventures and stopping at every QT along the way. Also, including long days at the lake boating, camping, and cooking out with their grandchildren, children and many friends. They also traveled throughout the country together, creating lifelong memories along the way.


David is survived by his wife, Lisa Henderson, of the home; his lifelong best friend, Mark Lear of Warsaw; daughters Lindsey Lamb (Coltin), Rachel Thomas (TJ), and Hailey Newman (Tony); and his beloved grandchildren, Hadley, Pailynn, Wrenley, Westin, Olivia, and Baby Newman. He is also survived by his brother Kevin Henderson and his wife, Ginger; his nephew, Logan; his niece, Addi; his Aunt Charlotte; and many cherished cousins.
