January 28, 1958 — September 9, 2023 Prescott, Kansas

Delbert Alan Cannon, age 65, Prescott, Kansas passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023. He was bon on January 28, 1958, in Fort Scott, Kansas, the son of Norman and Karan Brown Cannon.


He graduated from Jayhawk Linn High School in the Class of 1976. Delbert was united in marriage to Susan Deer on March 20, 1982. He worked in the construction industry most of his life, mainly as a carpenter. Delbert also served as a Linn County commissioner. He enjoyed part-time farming and ranching. Family was the most important part of his life. He liked to hunt, fish, and did a bit of cowboying as well.


He was preceded in death by his son, Heath Cannon, on August 16, 1998; his father, Norman; two brothers, Terry and Jeff Cannon; and a father-in-law, Dale Deer. Delbert is survived by his wife Susan; two sons, Chase Cannon and wife Alison and Jacob Summers and wife Tonya; a brother, Perry Cannon and wife Pam; two sisters, Debbie Cougill and Gail Crooks; and eight grandchildren, Colben, Harley, Lexi, Abigail, Aubreigh, Ryland, Brendan, and Sawyer.

Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the Hume Christian Church. Burial will be in the Prescott Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Heath Cannon Memorial Hunt. Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
