Dolores Emilie Andrews, age 84, Louisburg, Kansas, formerly from La Cygne, Kansas, passed away at her home on Monday, February 26, 2024.  Dolores was born the daughter of William and Sadie Leaton Ray on January 16, 1940, at Stuttgart, Arkansas.  She married Chuck Andrews on January 26, 1957, in La Cygne, Kansas, he preceded her in death on September 1, 2005.


Dolores worked alongside Chuck as a butcher's assistant for almost 30 years before they retired.  She was a humorous lady and loved crocheting, chocolate, and coffee. She was a huge football fan and would watch any game that was on the television, but her favorite team by far was the Kansas City Chiefs. Her love of cats was by far her favorite pastime.  


She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Tammy Sue Andrews; a brother, William Ray; and a sister, Carol Jenicke.  Dolores is survived by three children, daughter Carrie Powell, son Steve Andrews, daughter,Kelly Bays; one sister, Glenda Shipley; four grandchildren, Andrew, Michelle, Todd and Trenton; and five great-grandchildren, Lillian, Kyle, Emily, Karizma and Alani.


A private family graveside will be held at a later date at the Brooklyn Cemetery.  The family suggests memorial contributions to the Kansas City Humane Society and these may be sent in care of the funeral home to P.O.
