Early voting for general election begins on Monday, Oct. 27, at county courthouse

MOUND CITY – Early voting for the Nov. 4 general election begins on Monday, Oct. 27 at the County Clerk's office in the Linn County Courthouse in Mound City.


Linn County voters will go to the polls Nov. 4 to elect school board members in several districts, and city residents will vote for members of their city councils.

For this election, the advanced voting period has been reduced from two weeks to one week, and there will be no advance polling in La Cygne or Pleasanton as there has been in the past, nor will the clerk’s office be open on Saturday, Nov. 1, for voting.


The clerk’s office opens for voting Monday through Friday at 8 a.m. and closes at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The office will be open until 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. The final opportunity for advance voting is Monday, Nov. 3 from 8 a.m. to noon.


It is important that people who want to vote early bring photo identification, just like on election day.
